Itinerary

1. Day 1

   Arrival in Cairo

   Your guide meets you at the airport, helps with the visa and drives you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to rest after the flight.

2. Day 2

   Giza, Saqqara and Memphis

   The pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx in the morning, lunch at a local restaurant, then the Step Pyramid of Djoser at Saqqara and the giant fallen statue of Ramses II at Memphis.

3. Day 3

   Grand Egyptian Museum, Coptic Cairo and Khan el-Khalili

   A morning in the Grand Egyptian Museum with Tutankhamun's gold, then the Hanging Church and the old Coptic quarter, and an evening walk through the Khan el-Khalili bazaar. Lunch at a local restaurant.

4. Day 4

   Fly to Luxor, Karnak and Luxor Temple, board your cruise

   A morning flight to Luxor. Karnak and Luxor Temple with your Egyptologist, then you board your five-star Nile cruise for lunch. Dinner and the first night on board.

5. Day 5

   Luxor West Bank, sail to Edfu

   Three tombs in the Valley of the Kings, the temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon, with an optional sunrise balloon first. Back on board for lunch as the boat sails south to Edfu.

6. Day 6

   Edfu and Kom Ombo

   A horse carriage takes you to the temple of Horus at Edfu. Afternoon tea on the sun deck as you sail to Kom Ombo, the double temple of Sobek and Horus, and its crocodile museum.

7. Day 7

   Aswan: Philae and a felucca

   The island temple of Philae by motorboat and the High Dam, then a felucca at sunset around Elephantine Island. Abu Simbel can be added early in the morning (extra). Last night on board.

8. Day 8

   Fly from Aswan to Cairo

   Breakfast on board, disembark and take the short flight to Cairo. Free afternoon, or a last stroll in Khan el-Khalili with your guide.

9. Day 9

   Alexandria on the Mediterranean

   A drive north to Alexandria: the catacombs of Kom el-Shoqafa, Pompey's Pillar, the Qaitbay Citadel on the sea and the modern Library of Alexandria. Fresh fish for lunch by the harbour, then back to Cairo.

10. Day 10

    Departure

    Breakfast, then a private transfer to the airport for your flight home, with our team helping you all the way to check-in.
